This is how the past couple days have been for me:
“What kind of fuckery is this?” –Amy Winehouse
“I’ve been talkin’ to God, don’t know if it’s helping or not but something’s got to give ‘cause I can’t keep waiting to live” –Sara Bareilles
“We ain’t lettin’ anybody in our family business.” –Kanye West
“And I’ll watch the bones in your back like the Stations of the Cross” –Bruce Sprinsteen
“Why do I take pains to astound you? Why do I even try?” –Corinne Bailey Rae
“Are you livin’ too fast? Livin in the past? How are you livin?” –Gran Torino
“And though she thought I knew the answer, well I knew but I could not say” –Beatles
“I’ve been talkin’ to God, don’t know if it’s helping or not but something’s got to give ‘cause I can’t keep waiting to live” –Sara Bareilles

“She was an American girl. Raised on promises…” –Tom Petty

I like this a lot - I should do it sometime, since it seems that I hear the words of songs that speak to me when I need them. Also read articles that tend to speak to me. Like, for instance, this morning reading Oprah magazine. Article about how giving up can be good for you...
That line from Amy Winehouse is my new favorite thing to just yell out at the TV during Arkansas basketball games. LOL
NoR - I'll go check out Oprah this morning, thanks.
Jay- it really is an all prupose line, especially in my life :)
It's actually January's issue. People leave old magazines at the gym when they are done. I didn't see the article online, but maybe didn't look hard enough.
So I should just give up?
:)
You are far to clever for your own good... :-)
"I warned you I was trouble. I admit that I'm no good"...
"You make me sick" (though I'm not sure who to blame)
"You always find a way to keep me right here waiting.."
"But on the other hand...there's a golden band" (don't ask, really)
"I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts"
And the most accurate:
"Up and down that lonely road of faith
I have been there
Unprepared for the storms and the tides that rise
I've realized one thing, how much I love you
And it hurts to see, see you cryin'
I believe we can make it through the winds of change "
NoR: Better a smartass than a dumbass I always say!
I might make this a weekly thing Susan. Wanna join me?
Why is the word coconuts so funny???
Coconuts is just a fun word in general. Brown fuzzy nuts. heheheh...Whew medicine is fun.
"I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way..."
Be careful, Susan. Or just go to bed - whichever:)
Good one, NoR!
Go listen to 'Ode to Joy' from Beethoven's Ninth. You can probably hear it on You Tube. Then think about the trip to Chicago!
I have it on my iPod, CEO :) I'll have to give you guys a trip update soon!
