don't forget the lyrics

It's Thursday, so here you go! This is what's been playing through my head this week:

" Big puffy girl handwriting, cultivated cutesy pillow sculptures..." Danielle Howle

"I am sorry that I set my sights on the things I read"
Indigo Girls

"My tears dry on their own"
Amy Winehouse

"I know that it's a wonderful world, but I can't feel it right now"
James Morrison

"You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine"
Pink

"Well she tied you to her kitchen chair and she broke your throne and she cut your hair and from your lips she drew the hallelujah" Leonard Cohen

Have you heard the version of the last one by Rufus Wainwright on the Shrek soundtrack? It's gorgeous gorgeous. I can listen to it over and over.

I will someday share my lyrics. They hit too close to home right now.

NoR- My fav is the Jeff Buckley version from and episode of the West Wing. Heartbreaking.
I'm thinking of it as a weekly catharsis.

Tengo la camisa negra,
hoy mi amor está de luto;
hoy tengo en el alma una pena
y es por culpa de tu embrujo ( by Juanes) ... those are the lyrics going around in my head, not sure I like the song but the video cracks me up.

I was listening to Vivaldi today.

Sucker didn't write no lyrics.

oooooooooo Vivaldi, nice. I have been on a Beethoven kick.

I love Leonard Cohen's version, Rufus Wainwright's version, every version I have ever heard, we played each one we could find at the wake for my cat. I still cry volumes over her.
