The Great Snickerdoodle Pronouncement has apparently created some dissension in the ranks. There are minions who think it is permissible to disagree with me. Of course they will be dealt with swiftly ... and never heard from again.
In the meantime here's a little something to ponder: Thursday morning I drove 188 miles to Raleigh, NC (Go Wolfpack!) for a training thingy for work. Thursday night I took in a Hurricanes game (they won. i am such good luck!) with Val and her fam in their super swanky seats (free food+free drinks= happy g). This morning I drove 216 miles to get back to work back here in VA by 9am. Here's the question, minions?
WHY DID I NOT TAKE TODAY OFF???
* answer: g just isn't too smart sometimes.

I should never have mentioned the molasses cookies nor suggested that they slightly edged out snickerdoodles.
I realize that now that I have found the cap of a molasses bottle in my bed, with the pool of congealed molasses beneath it.
Not as dramatic as the severed horse's head in "The Godfather"...but still, the message has been received, GodmotherWNG.
I shall not go against you again.
;-)
Glad you got the message, Deac...
I'd hate to lose you ;-)
I have a wonderful snickerdoodle recipe from my late mom, actually...though I've never had occasion to try making it myself yet. Mrs. Blue and Son of Blue, when they ask me to bake, generally want either my pumpkin crunch (during fall and winter) or my chocolate chip cookies.
I'll have to see if I can do justice to my mom's snickerdoodles though, as well as roll out some of those others I haven't touched since I was still living at home and helping her bake during the holidays. I'll let you know how they turn out.
We need pictures and some type of smell o'vision technology for this. Obviously Mama Deac was an awesome lady with taste and class... I won't say that you aren't doing her culinary memory justice by not sharing her Snickerdoodles with Son of Blue and the Mrs...
but if other Snickerdoodle lovers are thinking it I can't really stop them...
seriously though - if you wanted to share the recipe...
WAIT!!! It's almost midnight! What the shiggity am I doing still awake?!?! g'night minions!
I'm going to regret this, but...
I am going to have to say that my roommates' vegan chocolate chip peanut butter cookies are the "best dessert in the history of desserts."
There - I said it.
;)
Every day I make it into work I often ask "why didn't I take today off?"
I wonder how easy it would be to excommunicate the pope???
That's because it's a questions for the ages, Susan. It's a truly deep thought...
Hello,
I am not sure if you are "into" the Christmas season, but just in case you are...
I want to speak blessings upon you on this wonderous day of celebration and remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ!
Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
Lisa
Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
"For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Hard to follow that. Merry Christmas.
